Five Star Restaurant Reservations – New Features, More Options
We’re rolling out a major update to the Five Star Restaurant Reservations (formerly Restaurant Reservations) plugin this week which has a tonne of new features that we’re really excited about.
One of the major changes is that the free and premium plugins have had their codebase combined into a single plugin, with a new licensing system that means that you won’t need to install an extra plugin after purchasing the premium version. With the combined codebase, we’re also able to offer users a free 7 day trial of the premium version before they purchase.
We’re also going to be simplifying our premium pricing structure: instead of offering 4 separate add-ons, we’ll be offering a single “Pro” version of the plugin that contains all of the add-ons (currently called the Full Bundle), as well as an “Ultimate” version which we’ll be releasing in November that will include a number of major features requiring a deposit when making a reservation, email/SMS reminders about upcoming reservations, and email/SMS notifications for guests who are late for their reservations.
On top of the re-structuring of the business model, we’ve added in a bunch of new options in pro version. These changes include an option to add a page to your site where you you can view all of that day’s booking as well as the ability to check-in guests as they arrive, so that it’s more clear to restaurant staff which guests still have not arrived for their reservations.
We’ve added in 2 new styles for the booking forms, which we think our users will really appreciate, along with a bunch of styling options so that you can change the colours, fonts, etc. of your booking form without needing to know CSS.
Finally, we’ve also added in a new “Max Reservations” feature, so that only a specified number of reservations can be made during a specific time-slot. This is a feature that has been requested by a number of users, and we think that it’s going to be really useful for restaurants, since they won’t need to reject or reschedule as many reservations.
Users who have the pro version of the plugin installed will immediately have access to these new features after updating to version 2.0.0 of the Five Star Restaurant Reservations plugin.
